Project 365 catchup #6 – 31

Seeing as January is over, I owe whoever is reading (if anyone, and thank you if you are!) an update on my Project 365, which is rapidly becoming more and more boring and mundane.

January 6, 2010

We bought a wii around Christmas, and I’m sort of obsessed with wii tennis and wii fit. I’m awful at both of them. Apparently no matter how much I like yoga, my balance is really just wretched.

Absolutely uninterested in getting out of bed.

Taken on the drive into Boston, because nothing else was interesting enough. Alex and I were going to get sushi, and I was much more interested in eating sushi than I was taking pictures of it.

A failed attempt at making a red velvet cake, but successful three layer chocolate ‘bon voyage’ cake for my sister though!

To-do list of the day. Mostly ordering textbooks and writing articles for a blog I interned at.

Rescued a Christmas ornament that was far too pretty to go into a basement to get dusty and dingy. (And yes, this was how late it was when we finally took down our tree.)

Had a bad day, but it was remedied by a super nice and cute Starbucks barista who upgraded my drink and gave me a free cupcake. We had a conversation about Sweet Cupcake, and I went to get him a cupcake in return, but unfortunately, Piña Colada was out of season. If I didn’t have a boyfriend, I totally would have given him a hug, but there are only so many things you can do when there’s a counter in the way, and you don’t really just hug random strange boys anyway.

Dropped sister off at the airport, hardcore creeped on people passing by while waiting with her before she had to go through security.

Spent the entire day in meetings or in a car commuting (and also what I’m convinced was the world’s slowest red line train). By the end of the day, was too brain dead and just determined to get a picture of something.

blah blah blah (15/365)

January 16, 2010

Went for a run! Sort of. My friend Emily was training for a half marathon she was planning on running once she got back to California, so a bunch of us accompanied her on her last day of training. Everyone else was much more successful than me, haha.

Best brunch on the face of the planet. Cream cheese and berry stuffed challah bread french toast, with whipped cream. Of course, at this point, it was really just breakfast food for a very late lunch, but brunch nonetheless. I guess.

Moved back to the dorms. A “what’s in my bag” was totally necessary for the day. (My camera is usually in there, but obviously, things cannot be in two places.)

I don’t want to talk about this. Scott Brown won.

Random cranes. Miscellaneous wall decor.

Got student rush orchestra seats on a whim, to one of the last showings of In the Heights with some friends. I enjoyed it, but walked away from it without actually remembering a single song (which was a first, actually).

Water bottle spilled everywhere because I forgot to close it after coming back from the gym. As a result, my entire life became water logged and I had to dry things with a blow dryer or on the window sill. A+ Friday, really.

Miranda and I were at Alex’s for brunch before seeing a show, and why Alex had his trumpet out while we were having brunch was bizarre enough (but not as bizarre and awkward sounding as this sentence, apparently), but the fact that I could make a noise out of it on my first try (albeit, an awful, dying elephant sort of noise) was also extremely bizarre.

And then he took it away from me. I can’t blame him. Or Miranda for somewhat making him.

My sister came back from London! Along with loads of sweets and things from Muji, she brought me back a pterodactyl. I’m obsessed. It dances (badly). Just like me.

Too much rain.

Alex is convinced that I don’t eat enough when I’m at school (probably true), so we usually make it a point to meet for a quick dinner once during the week. My skill in making aluminum foil hearts is apparently lacking.

Heavy snow. I have a love/hate relationship with the word squall. Love how it’s always misspelled on closed captioning (or at least, that’s what it seems when I watch the weather at the gym in the morning), hate the association with snow and babies (two of my least favorite things).

Too lazy to wash a dish before my 10am class, decided that yoghurt and granola from a red cup was a much better alternative. Breakfast of champions, right here.

Spent entire day working through a mountain of never ending homework. I never want to learn about the history of media again. I might cry.

Just got back into knitting – “just” being literally in the last six hours or so. Tried to make socks (failed), and am now considering maybe making a hat. Will probably be unsuccessful.
