Today Light Claven Owner of Glasnost and very dear friend dropped a very beautiful skirt on me today and I have to say I was taken. The skirt, as soon as I had put it on, had me dreaming of tea parties and luncheons. The textures evoke a spring time and young classic feel and that is something that I always love when look to put an outfit together. So I paired it with some cute odds and ends and showcasing my new 69 hair which will be getting its on post! So I hope you enjoy, pour your self some mint tea, serve yourself some lemon cake and let yourself be carried away. Stephanie “Handbags” Pratt is finally on her way to achieving her dreams.  It seems like just yesterday she told Kelly Cutrone, in a job interview, that she really had no long term goals to work for People’s Revolution.  No, she wanted to have her own handbag line.

Stephanie has managed to get far from the world of fashion PR and in to the world of designing pocketbooks.  The designer told MTV:

“Well, I’m here in New York pretty much vacationing and then I’ve just been meeting with designers and presidents of different fashion houses,” she said about the once-titled Monroe handbag line. “Literally this week has been the best dream come true for anyone who is so in love with this world, but the fashion line, the handbag line is coming out this fall and then in September I can’t wait to come back for fashion week and then September, October is when I start designing the spring collection.”

You see, Stephanie likes to work.  Never mind the clubs we’ve seen her go to for the past few years on theHills.  She’s graduated to movies at home and bed by 11.  ”I think it’d be surprising to know that I would rather stay inside than go out,” she told MTV News. “I like going to a nice dinner with friends and watching a movie and literally falling asleep.”  As aging twenty -somethings, we must say we can relate to this aspect of Stephanie.

“I’m like exhausted! I’ve been going out since I was 17, so I really don’t like the club scene in L.A. very much anymore,” she said. “I think people would be surprised to learn I’m kind of a nerd and I like to work.”

We bet she’s even more resolved to stay in the house now that she has a man to stay in with!

Today is a poker party day! Some people will be coming over for a friendly game of poker later on this afternoon and early evening. While most will be putting their hold ‘em skills to use, some others of us will likely find ourselves playing either Boggle or UNO. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for UNO (I’ve got a better chance of winning at it than anything else).

No party is complete without snacks. I made some chocolate crackle cookies and I have some chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting in the works. The treats ought to be enough to keep people happy and sugar rushing for a few hours.

Today I also completed and added a new handbag at AngelicaMadeMe!

Thanks to a couple of kind hearts, two of my handbags have sold! My goal from the beginning was to make a few somethings I love, put them up online, and hope that someone else would like one enough to make it their own. The last part I was willing to let go of, though, because I really just wanted to try.

I finally finished those 3 purses that have been on my sewing table forever.  I have not been able to focus and get them done for about three weeks and I am blaming my kids for it.  Summer vacation is to blame for mommies everywhere not getting their work done!

But not today. Today I am going through my vintage fabric stash and my organic fabric stash and making it all come together in just a perfect fresh and yummy way.  I am so lucky to have the day to sew.
