I am not really sure how something so useful, amazing, efficient, and fabulous ever went out of style. It is like, as if deodorant went out of style, or cars. Well, you know what I mean.

San Diego sisters, Nichole and and Natascha Shamlian were rummaging through a garage sale in North Park (central San Diego) when they discovered an unusual object that eventually led to the launch of their multi-million dollar business. Nichole and Natascha were so fascinated by this new gadget: an antique PurseHook. After doing some research and designing, the SD sisters revamped the 1940s hook and created their own line!

After great success with the original PurseHooks, the San Diego Sisters craved something new, something innovative to keep up with today’s rapidly growing fashion market. They created and patented the FUMI, a PurseHook that 1) clips on the outside of your handbag as a beautiful accessory, 2) can also be worn as a bangle bracelet and then of course 3) used to keep your bag off the floor — A Fashionable, Unique, Multipurpose, Innovation!

Clic-clac, c’est le petit bruit joli du porte-monnaie de mes 10 ans. J’en avais un tout orange en pvc avec des petites perles. En vacances à la campagne, j’y glissais mes centimes de francs. Bien au fond de la poche, la bourse en sécurité, le nez au vent sur mon vélo trop petit. Au bout du chemin, il y avait la boulangerie du village voisin où on pouvait se délester de ses deniers en échange de  quelques bonbons gélifiés… Version 2009, on se fournit à la Droguerie (colle et fermoire), on coupe dans la toile cirée  trouvée chez Tissus Reine, on ressort une chute Alexander Henry pour la doublure et on suit à la lettre le tutoriel de U-Handbag. Et puis, on croquerait quand même bien un car-en-sac, là tout de suite.

Clic-clac! That’s the cute sound my childhood purse made. When  i was ten, i had an orange one. During holidays in the counrtyside, i had my pennies secure in my purse, and the purse in my pocket. Every couple of days, i dashed on my bike to the boulangerie in the next village. There i could exchange my pennies for some jelly candy. In 2009, i go to La Droguerie to buy frames and glue. I cut my fabric from Tissus Reine. I also use some Alexander Herny fabric for the lining. The tutorial i used can be found at U-Handbag. You know what now? I feel like teating myself to some “car-en-sac” candy!

Just wanted to share the cute handmade tags I made for my clutch bags and purses.

Printed on textured, paper with my bubble-jet printer, I think they came out beautifully. Then I hole punched them, to tie the ribbon through and then I safety pin them carefully inside the lining.

The Dolce&Gabbana Women’s Collection for Fall Winter 2009-2010 portrays the most memorable and important operas, taking the artistic differences given by the original eras of release, and celebrates the iconic Maria Callas for her musical shows featuring the grace printed T-shirts, and the recorded Bellini’s Norma at the Metropol in 1954 where the D&G Show takes place.

The Styles are very delicate and superior. Brocade, upholstery and capitonné velvet bustier dresses with internal petticoats, covered with precious stones. Duchesse silk gowns with trompe-l’oeil effect prints. Bustiers were made of golden passamenterie ropes to wear with skinny jeans. Velvet coats and dresses with tapestry prints. Tapestry-printed chiffon blouses and jewel brooches tmatch with tights.

Fabrics and materials used are brocades, smooth velvets, matelassé velvets, upholstery velvet encrusted with glitters and stones, silk, mink, printed horse skin, chiffon, printed cashmere, denim adorned with stones and precious passamenterie details, tulle, grosgrain ribbons.

The season’s colors are almost black, burgundy, blue, mélange grey, ochre and gold.

When I see these hippie models wearing chic dresses I remember my childhood and my mother reading fairytales to me. My imaginative mind pictured lovely queens and princesses wearing pretty gowns similar to the ones we see on models of Dolce and Gabbana Women’s Collection for Fall/Winter 2009-2010 toting Dolce & Gabbana handbags.
