Magnolia Pearl on My Back!

Okay, I went insane a month or so ago and went on a little shopping binge at Magnolia Pearl. I almost escaped without a purchase, but the bohemian hipstress gods wouldn’t let me leave without a purchase. So, I am now the proud owner of a most fabulous and luxurious Magnolia Pearl Backpack. It is absolutely stunning and very ornate and everything you would expect from Ms. Brown. $830 later, it was at my doorstep in a matter of days. The only flaw is that the snap at the top of the backpack doesn’t stay closed when you carry it around. Robin…if you see this, what can I do to make it better?

My new lovely is still pictured on the MP web site, so I’ve linked to it because it’s gorgeous and I love it! I have another Magnolia Pearl purse that I bought a couple of years ago when she was just getting started and I love that one too! This one is far more elaborate, but they are both wonderful!

Yes, I worship at the alter of Magnolia Pearl and hope to one day visit her fabulous place in Bandera!

Baby Bags for Mama – not for baby

If you are like me, carrying a cute bag that has “baby” written all over it just is not your style.

That is a big reason that I have brought in the styles that are stocked at Mama Bags right now. I understand that there are those who enjoy a really cute bag, but that aint me babe!

In fact, when my kids were still babies and we had to carry all their stuf with us, I usually just carried a large handbag and threw in a diaper, one change of clothes and wipes. That way I could still stay fashionable.

With that said, I do try to include different styles of bags in our shop. Right now we have 4 different styles and many colors within those.

For instance, we have a backpack baby bag, some designer style highly fashionable quilted styles and a tote bag style too.

Now, the other thing is that some of the bags in our other areas could be used as a baby bag or carry all.

How about this one?  http://www.mamabags.com/store/WsDefault.asp?One=183  The pockets outside can be used for photos, keys, business cards, pacifiers……. you get the idea, right?  So it doesn’t have a changing mat. You could use a towel – a large dish towel would roll up easily and  not take up much room.

One of my favorites though just because of the fabric is http://www.mamabags.com/store/WsDefault.asp?One=80 This one a designer style and the inside is just as beautiful as the outside.

The great thing about that bag? It could be used as a laptop bag also!

I guess when it comes to bags, I just think outside the box and see all the ways a bag can be used.

Hippie Bags

My homemade tote bag!

I’m not a big sewer. In fact, I usually get mad when I use a sewing machine and my projects end up half finished because I don’t have that much patience. However, this time I was determined to make something that I’d actually use. I got this fabric from GoodWill and made this lined tote bag. Not bad for my first bag, huh? The straps are all different materials since I kept making it longer and added a chaos stitching to make it look punk-ish.

Also, the lining is purple pin stripes with pockets. I am so proud of myself! What do you think?

He ran his own handbag company and was president of a major corporation where he developed the company into a $200 million business along with the design inspiration of his wife Kathy (of Kathy Van Zeeland fame). B. Makowsky handbags are defined by a signature leather tassel in addition to chunky satin-finished hardware and signature paisley lining. Zippers and pockets create function without bulk. Colors include simple blacks, browns and ivory with pops of fresh colors such as red, denim, saffron and tangerine.

Hard cover wallets and cute clutches

I had a fashion accessory addiction that came about a lil over a year ago. I was in search for a goo

So, okay

The thing is, I have two major problems: a handbag addiction and no desire to quit.

I don’t even own any Versace (YET, and I refuse to own knock-offs…), but I know what I like and I know what quality design and materials look and feel like!

I created this site to write about handbags and fashion and designers and styles and materials so my friends don’t have to listen to my fantastic ramblings. Instead, all us hopeless handbag hounds can ban together in Handbags Anonymous and guide each other to new heights of style, color, and quality hardware!

So tune in here for discussion on designer handbag lines, how to know what you like, what’s hawt and in the spotlight, who’s carrying what on their arms, and whatever other handbag-related whims I might conjure up.
